Laura and Dan
Laura and Dan met online but bonded over a very long dog walk in the Wye Valley. They’re an honest, openhearted couple who love the outdoors and exploring new places. They get away as often as possible in their vintage van. They dream of a future involving tree houses and yurts. All of this combined really shined through in their very unique Buckland House wedding- they had clearly put so much of themselves into it.
Their Buckland House Wedding
The day centered around Buckland House, near Beaworthy in North Devon. Laura and the girls got ready there in the morning while everyone met outside. Then a fantastic procession of family and friends wound it’s way through the woods to a clearing among the trees. Laura walked down the natural aisle, in a dress by Unique Dress, to Ben Howard’s “Depth over distance”. The very emotional ceremony started there in such a beautiful, still setting.
Then it was back through the woods to the grounds of Buckland House for their second ceremony. Martin Warren led the moving and lighthearted ceremony in the beautiful chapel. Followed by some well deserved congratulations and confetti.
After some mingling in the sunshine, with games on the lawn, everyone made their way to their fantastic yurt for some brilliant speeches and great food by Oaktree Occasions.
Back to Buckland again for some dancing with music by the Melody Makers before we headed out to explore the grounds for some evening portraits.
Photographers at Buckland House
Laura had mentioned previously that she loves to see raw emotion in photographs, but is also very keen on artistic shots where visions come to life. That’s a great description of what we do throughout a wedding! The lovely Laura and Dan provided us with such a varied, emotional day in a series of gorgeous locations. It was a joy to be there to tell their story.
